Chiara String Quartet

Join the Chiara Quartet, Hixson-Lied Artists-in-Residence at the UNL Glenn Korff School of Music, as they celebrate 11 years of performing in Lincoln throughout the 2016-2017 season. Each concert in the Hixson-Lied Concert Series features a themed journey through the heart of string quartet music. You won’t want to miss a single performance!

3 and 4 performance season passes are available at a discount and can be purchased through the Lied Center box office over the phone by calling 402-472-4747, or at the box office window at 12th and P streets. Season passes are not available online.

FAR FROM HEAVEN is an operatic musical, which transports us to 1957 to meet the Whitakers, a nearly perfect young couple with a beautiful home in the suburbs and two young children. They are living the American dream, or so it seems. Issues desperately hidden in the 1950s still surface today. These issues cause the couple's life to unravel as they try to hold the seams of their dream together. A sumptuous score by Scott Frankel sets the couple's life to music ranging from moments of lighthearted charm to heart-melting passion. You may not yet be familiar with this story, but you will never forget it.

Sitting Bull's Last Waltz is a Rock Opera about the fatal showdown between Lakota Leader Sitting Bull and James McLaughlin at Standing Rock Agency in the 1880s. Created by Lincoln Native John Templin Schliesser, the show debuted at the Dragonfly Theater in Los Angeles in June 2016, with Musical Direction by Gregg Foreman (Cat Power). All ticket proceeds will be dedicated to Standing Rock.

Dancing with the Stars performers Julianne and Derek Hough make their Lied Center debut with the "Move – Beyond" tour.

Following the success of "Move" tours in 2014 and 2015, "Move – Beyond" will bring fans on a journey of dance and music, taking inspiration from the four elements – earth, wind, fire and water – as an exploration of the human relationship with nature. The Houghs will be joined by the Move Company Dancers for performances in styles ranging from ballroom and tap to salsa and hip-hop.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, December 16.
